Had a failure of the motherboard in my Dell computer so had to replace it (with an HP this time). Unfortunately, I think, it came with Vista as the operating system. I have access to a free upgrade to Windows 7 (as soon as I figure out what I have to do to get it) but in the mean time, I can't figure out how to get the telnet running with this system. The setup is straight-forward; as of now, it's only the computer and the internet, both of which seem to work without difficulty. The settings in DX4WIN are the same as they were when I was using the old computer with XP, but I cannot get the packet window to open and, unsurprisingly, I cannot get the telnet to operate. I've changed all the settings I can think of, but nothing works. I can get the words "switch to packet" in the "windows" column of DX4WIN to show up black, but when I click it, nothing happens. I also tried loading DX4WIN "as the administrator" but nothing changed.
Anybody have any ideas about this? Thanks in advance.... and 73, Karl, K1KO ______________________________________________________________ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
