No really satisfactory way... and don't hold your breath for the fix, it's been a problem for years ;-)
What I would do is log them as Clover (I never use Clover) and put the mode in the comments field. I plan to wait a little longer for Paul to fix this issue, at which time I'll select the Clover QSO's and do some fixing. If not I am a registered user of another logging program that allows modes to be added as needed... and there is always AA6YQ's free programs which support these modes. I have the same issues with Contestia which I use quite a bit, and ROS where I've made a few dozen Q's. I'm also considering removing all digital contacts from DX4Win and using it for Phone/CW only and letting FLdigi manage the digital stuff. Paul... PLEASE consider doing something about this!!!
