Can anyone help please Sid, did anyone ever answer this question for you? I believe that the serial cable for a Yaesu radio is DIFFERENT than a serial cable for Kenwood. I think the Yaesu cable has to cross-over Tx and Rx (i.e. a null-modem cable), whereas the Kenwood would use a "straight-thru" cable.
