Do you still have the W6KY log in 8.01 format? Note that there was a log format change (conversion) from 8.04 to 8.05, so you can't go backwards (8.04 and earlier can't open an 8.05 log).
If you have your 8.01 log, using 8.01, export to DX4WIN8 format, then try creating a new log in 8.05, and import the .DXQ file into that log.
