A couple of years ago, I started putting (SK) after a QSL manager's
callsign if that manager had passed away, but there was no further QSL
information available. If the DX station asked for QSLs direct, then
the manager was removed completely. By putting the (SK) in there, it
it supposed to give the user at least some sort of lead if they want
to try to track down the logs to confirm and old QSO. The (SK) also
prevents the manager's mailing address from going into the database.

I have recently run into a different case, where the manager may not
have passed away, but the callsign either expired or was cancelled for
some reason. I don't know how to indicate this in the QSL manager
database. The mailing address might still be good, but the manager is
no longer a ham. Any suggestions as to what I should do with these?
