Unfortunately, program connection timeout has been a continuing DX4WIN issue (for me, at least - with a wide variety of versions, radios, and computers). It's annoying but there's apparently not much that can be done about it (I know, I know: 500 people will jump on this and say, "I've never once had had a timeout problem"). It was brought home to me again during the recent SSB DX contest, when the N1MM contest logger stayed connected all weekend without a hiccup. Frequently reconnecting is a small price to pay for an otherwise rock-solid, versatile program.
