Jim, This is not a bug 100% sure of it and the FT5000.rig file is also correct (We made it with my ftdx5000 radios) but for the moment the current DX4WIN version can not handle the letter A,B,C (C = PKTUSB) for MODE selection only numbers work like 8=PKTLSB. This will be only possible with a future release

Unless someone can give/loan Paul an FT-5000 to develop with, or debug interactively with him in front of your own radio, what he implements in DX4WIN will just be a best guess (i.e. untested).
