John,
Are you connected to a rig interface? If so, try "stopping" the radio,
then see if there are any changes in operation.
I had a similar problem here after I switched to Win7 and a new FT-950
about the same time.
In my case DX4Win would be slow to respond to mouse clicks, appear to
run slow, update key entries slow, etc. My problem's root cause was a
faulty RIG file that had delay values that caused the program to pause
excessively when reading the radio values via the CAT interface. Once I
figured that out and repaired the RIG file, the program worked like it
did when I was running a different rig and Windows XP.

Hi, I recently upgraded to Windows 7 with DX4WIN. I have noticed that
DX4WIN operated slower as in when I click on a spot, or especially in
RTTY where it will decode but the letters going across the screen are
always jerky and slow. Then it will go faster for a few then back the
same way. Any ideas. The computer is 3.0 Quad Core processor and 8GB
Ram. Thanks, John
