I have the same issue, and find the recommendation helpful, as it confirms what I do.
However, I caution that at least in my experience, the QUOTE Radio | Ignore Mode in real-time UNQUOTE has to be manually set for each QSO. After logging a QSO, at least my set-up reverts to the current mode (USB).
