I've updated the DX4WIN Data Updater (test release) again. This time
it comes with a real Windows installer that will create a desktop
icon:

If you had downloaded 6.02 from yesterday, you can Update to get this
version without having to download it yourself. However, you are
better off running the installer, so the program can be uninstalled
later, if you choose.
When the installer runs, it will suggest installing at c:\dx4w805 --
this was done to match the default installation path for DX4WIN 8.05.
Please install it in the same directory as your version of DX4WIN.
You can navigate during the install to get there. This is the same
directory with DX4WIN.EXE
Changes in this version:
* Window during Update is a little different:
- updates are updated in-order
- file being updated is shown *above* progress bar
- updates are shown as descriptions, not file names (more user-friendly)
* New command-line option "-quick". If this option is specified, when
the update completes (reporting # files updated and # errors),
clicking OK will exit the Updater immediately, without returning to
the GUI. This saves a couple of mouse clicks.
* The code that was backing up some of the files may have created some
files with funny names, like:
.~x4wupd.exe .. or .~x4win.mas1
If you find any of these files in your DX4W### or UPDATE directory,
you may delete them.
