Bill,
If you are even moderately serious in your contesting efforts, I strongly suggest you look at a dedicated contest logging program such as N1MM. Once you get past the learning curve you will wonder how you ever got along without it. DX4Win is a logging program first, second, and third. Contest logging falls after that compared to a dedicated program. Once the contest is over you can export the N1MM data and import it into DX4Win to take care of your DX and QSLing chores.

Hi Bill,

In order to make this work, you must fill in all the information in the box
that pops up when you select Contest Mode - including the date and time
(which has to be before you start entering QSOs), the Contest Mode Enabled
box must be checked and the text you want added must be entered. The
sequence number appears in the line right below the program menu bar (which
says File, Radio, Help). It can be sent as part of a CW message by using
the appropriate macro in the CW Keyboard. The Text for QSO appears in the
Notes for this QSO field in the Log Window after you enter the QSO - that
is, you have to go back and look at it. Don't forget you can Disable
Fields in the QSO Menu so that the cursor hops only to the fields you want
to enter.

Selection and Edit Group Names are a function of your user level. But in
order to update the user level, you have to close and restart the program.

Hope that helps.

When I enable contest mode, nothing happens. I don’t see a field for
sequence #s and text for QSO doesn’t display in QSO notes. I tried changing
to advanced user but that didn't help. Also, selection and edit group names
are not available as filter selections. Am I missing something really
obvious? I would like to use context mode in the future.
