Hi, Hal Well, I know it can be done, because I've done it - at least in v. 8.05.
My present call is K4OTV. That was the call I was originally issued in 1957. But I worked an awful lot of CW DX as N4BZX. I had to go the vanity call sign route to get my original call back. It's been a while, but I think that all I did was go into the "File" menu and open a second log for N4BZX. I now have both in DX4Win. I was able to merge them in LOTW. I don't remember changing any preferences - just opened a second log for N4BZX. Give it a try.
