Until mid of October everything worked fine. For some reason (full encryption disk easy to install...) I changed to ubuntu linux 13.1. Now the bad thing: Serial port to read out the rig is now blocked!! I didn't find out how to release the port so far... CW: I never used parallel-port, so I cannot tell you about that open serial ports: Puppy linux Wary Mint 13 (ubuntu-derivate, debian-derivate not tested) Ubuntu 12.04 / Gnome desktop there may be some others, but not tested by myself... I'm sure there will be some help in the www! About the Desktops As I never got familiar with Unity desktop I always used Gnome or Cinnamon. Now the new Cinammon is wow! so I installed Gnome 3 and Cinnamon 2.0 over Ubuntu 13.1.
