Jamie, I am using an 18 month old FT5000 and it works fine. With the 5000 you must set the data rate in the menu 32, 33, 34 and 35 all address the CAT function in the 5000. Be sure these are set to match the DX4WIN settings in "preference file" Good Luck, Bill, K5ZQ
