Yes, I was going to say the same thing. Look at Jim's (AD1C) utility "ADIF to DX4WIN". You can assign a group number, add a note, and couple other nice things. I use to import my contacts from club station to keep separate from home station QSOs. It originally was only for importing contests but I asked Jim to add "NONE" for general QSO imports (been over 2 years since that was added).

The result is a DX4WIN file including group number. In your case you change the group nuber per imported file. Later you merge all the DX4WIN files. One small issue with DX4Win is you cant export/import the group name with the ADIF, 1 of the calls I manage we have a QSL manager and he needs to print the operator's call on the QSL card. Each operator's log I edit the OPERATOR field to NOTES and delete all fields that populate the NOTES FOR THIS QSO in Dx4win like STX, RX FREQUENCY. I now have just the operators call in the notes field and when I export the combined logs to our manager I just edit the export adif from NOTES back to OPERATOR. When you print your labels check "print group names" under "Print QSL Labels". To import your .adif set the DX4Win group number under Preferences/Set-up Parameters/QSO for each operator log you import.
