Hi Radi, I don't use PSK31, but the Prolific USB - Serial converters are known to have many problems. My first recommendation is to change to USB - Serial converters that use the FTDI chipset.
Also, I believe his second connection description is not correct. The Signalink must be connected directly to a USB connection on the computer. There is a special cable required for each type of radio that connects the audio outputs of the Signalink to the radio. The radio serial port must also be connected (through the USB - Serial adapter) to the computer directly.
