...and NO WORD from the author as to whether updates are even being
considered. As noted before, we are extremely lucky to have ancillary
support from Jim/AD1C.
  I guess I should be more mellow. After all, I have saved a TON of
money on update fees and the program does NEARLY everything I want it
to. However, with that being said, it would REALLY be nice to know if
there is ANY future for DX4Win beyond the OUTSTANDING support by Jim
(and the user community of course).
  Along a similar line though, I imagine that any changes would
probably involve a complete rewrite in a new (i.e., different)
programming language and that would bring a whole new generation of
issues, affectionately known as bugs or undocumented features. However,
it might at the same time provide an opportunity to make DX4Win
available to the Linux community as well.

Sean, it would require software changes.  There have not been any
software changes to DX4WIN in at least 8 years, I can't exactly
remember when DX4WIN 8.05 was released.  Take that for what it's
worth.
