Did it ever work before, i.e. did it just stop working? If it has never worked before.... Did you set up a virtual COM port for the radio, using the microHAM software? If you bring up the microHAM router (software), on the Ports tab, look to the right of the virtual COM port that DX4WIN is using to communicate with the radio. Do you see a pair of back-to-back green arrows, indicating that DX4WIN is communicating with the radio? It also shows the baud rate next to the word "open". You should also see the radio frequency in light block letters just above the listing of ports. This frequency should change as you rotate your radio's dial. Click the Set button next to this COM port. Make sure the radio type, the hex address (6A) and the baud rate are all correct (see below). Make sure everything is running at the same baud rate. In your DX4WIN preferences, on the Radio tab, make sure the "Address" field is correct for your ICOM radio (should be 6A). The default baud rate is 9600. If you are running at a different baud rate, you need to un-check the "Default" box under Baud Rate and type in the correct rate (i.e. 19200 or 4800 or whatever). Many ICOMs have a variable (auto-detect?) and a fixed baud rate, that you can choose through the radio menus. You are always better off using the fixed baud rate. Set it to 9600 baud to match DX4WIN. You may or may not have to set "DTR high" and/or "RTS High" correctly. If they are both unchecked, try checking them both. I forgot which one is right for ICOM. Try to get the microHAM uRouter software working first, so you can see the frequency change when you spin the dial. Then after it's tracking your radio, get DX4WIN going next. If you can't get the microHAM to work, get help from that reflector. Once all is working, backup your uRouter settings, and write your DX4WIN preferences to an INI file (File | Write INI file). -- Jim Reisert AD1C, <[email protected]>, http://www.ad1c.us ______________________________________________________________ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
