If you press enter after typing "version" in the log window, you will log that as a contact and will later have to go back and delete it.
If you go to preferences/qso and check Callsign update, the desired results will show up in the country box and in the qsl mgr box without pressing the enter key. This way you won't have to go in and delete the contact you just logged. Another plus of checking this box is that as soon as the first few of letters of the call of someone you want to work is entered, the country will pop up. You won't have to type in the whole call to see what country it is from. Handy if you just want to know the origin of a call.
