This morning my computer crashed and I had DX4WIN running at the time
(version 9.0.4.1176). I had just logged a QSO and manually saved the
logfile. Approximately a minute later the computer crashed. After
restarting the computer and opening DX4WIN I received the following
error message when I attempted to open my logfile (Wb4tdh.dxl):
This is not a DX4WIN logfile
I noticed in the save directory that the Wb4tdh.dxl file must have been
corrupted as the size of the file is approximately half the size it
should be (~6.5M vs. 11.5M). The Wb4tdh.~xl file looks the right size
so if I understand this correctly I should be able to recover my log
from this file? If so, what procedure do I need to follow to do this?
The .dxl file has a time stamp 1 minute later than the .~xl file which
may impact the recovery process?
I would greatly appreciate guidance on this.
