It sounds like you may have exported your log, then imported it into the new version. There is no need to do that!
After installing the new version, simply copy your log file (i.e. DL1MGB.dxl) from the old SAVE directory to the new SAVE directory. In the new version of the program, click on File | Open and navigate to the new SAVE directory, where you will find the copy of your log. Do *not* open the log in the old SAVE directory, otherwise, you may accidentally save it, and the old version will never be able to open it again.
