On the issue of stuck; 30% of the time I exit DX4WIN, or if my PC decides to periodically do a windows update and reboots, I lose the .CTY file in the folder SAVE and DX4WIN won't start. I have no idea why. this happens. So I always keep a backup of the .CTY file in my backup folder and recopy it to the SAVE folder and the program will launch again. Or just download and extract the latest .CTY file.

The problem was my .CTY file mysterorly disappeared. Check your SAVE folder for a missing .CTY file. I keep DX4WIN on two separate computers (home and contest). I go to the other computer, copy the .CTY file to a thumb drive, then insert it into the SAVE folder of the malfunctioning computer. This makes DX4WIN open as normal.
