In 1981, I was working for CKAY Radio in Duncan, BC, Canada on Vancouver Island. It was a 10,000 watt station, not a 50,000 watt power station. There were a group of Finnish DX ers as they are known, who travel to Lapland to sit in a hut and listen to signals from around the world. They have laid out antenna wires a kilometre long in two different directions. (If I remember the story correctly). Then they tune around the dial and when they pick up a signal, they would tape it and send it to the station hoping for a confirming letter back to add to their collection. Esa was one of those and he and his buddies immediately recognized that they were listening to a fellow Finn broadcasting from the west coast of Canada as I pronounced my name in the Finnish way. I responded with a confirming letter and also advised Esa that my girl friend and I would be in Finland the following summer. He and his wife Paivi immediately responded with typical Finnish hospitality and invited us to visit and stay with them. We did so and became good friends. So, it is fun to see such a story, but AM radio signals have been bouncing off the ionosphere since the beginning of radio and many DXers have heard stations from around the world. Enjoy the read. Se ei ole liian tuntemattomia joitakin yötä hakemaan radioasemia selkeästi eri puolilla maata, vaikka selkeitä koko maapallo on melko saavutus (I'm guessing radioaalloille hän piristyi meni napa-reitti). Se fysiikka todennäköisesti ole liian kaukana siitä, miten SONAR toimii sukellusveneiden, ja miten ääni voi heijastua perustuu lämpötilan ja seurannut tiheyden muutoksia veteen.
