The X17+ of Oct 28 was historic in that it was the second largest solar flare of cycle 23 and third largest since 1859. Also the massive associated Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) arrived at Earth in only approximately 19 hours, also fastest since 1859. Take Care!” It caused poor reception conditions when it impacted the Earth's magnetosphere with total fade outs on SW on the sunlit side. Several X-class flares have occured since then. At night nearby stations faded out whereas stations to the south stayed on. Here in Europe, European stations became weaker or faded out whereas African stations were well heard.
