Larry:

DXbase is already a really great logging program. In fact, it can do most of
the items you have in
your tongue-in-cheek list while you are in Europe. It just can't key your
transmitter. Well, at
least not yet!!!

I started this thread with the request that DXbase provide "correct" heading
info to the station
whose callsign I enter in the QSO log. All the info is already available in the
software to do
this.

The way it currently works, it does NOT provide "correct" heading info for US
stations if the
Summary window is set to "HF Country." In fact, it give erroneous info, which
is worse than no
info.

The people on this DXbase users group are providing a valuable service to each
other AND
especially to the designer/seller of the software. This is bascially "free"
Beta testing for the
software, which helps Jack understand what errors exist in it and what his
customers think of his
product and what they would like to see in future versions. Many software
companies pay big bucks
to testing labs and consultants to get this kind of info. Jack knows this and
knows that these
people are really helping him improve his product against the competition. Then
after Jack makes
some of the requested changes, he can sell the new version back to the people
who helped him make
it better. Let's not discourage people from trying to improve this great
program.

This is a Win-Win situation, for DXbase customers and for Jack.
