I have used my Icom pro with a rig blaster on PSK, stream and Slow scan. = It also has 6 meters with a scope.
Call Burghardt Amateur Center at 1800 927 4261 for info. I think they ar= e on special this month for $1,825 new. I paid $2,800 a few years ago for this radio. With the ct 17 interface I control the radio from the computer and it log= s the band and friq. I use Dxbase2002. 73 Ab0MD Douglass A Tate Sr. -------------Forwarded Message----------------- From: Dave Chasey, INTERNET:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To: , INTERNET:[email protected] = Date: 2/25/02 2:10 AM RE: [DXBase] recomendations... I'm a long term user of Dxbase, and recently installed the upgrade to 2002 that I bought at Dayton last year. I have been interested = in getting on psk31. I've also independantly been interested in = getting on 6 meter ssb & cw. My current HF rig is an old Ten-Tec 580 Delta. I really like the Delta and it has served me extremely well, but it's going on = 25 years old and lacks some of the features of the newer radios. = Since there is no computer control capability on the Delta, I have not used that feature of Dxbase. I began looking for a 6 meter all mode rig, and it's almost as much as getting a full 160M - to 6M rig. With that in mind, I = decided to look into a radio that would do 160-6, and consider = using it primarily for PSK31 and for 6 ssb/cw, while still using the Ten-Tec for the other bands. Maybe after using it, I'd = use it as my main radio and move the Ten-Tec into the backup spot. My questions are: - What HF rigs with 6 meter capability work best with DXbase? - What HF rigs integrate best with DXbase's PSK31 program? - Since you are using the computer's sound card for voice announcements of needed dx spots, how do you use that same card to send PSK31 transmit tones to the radio without a conflict? It would be quite undesirable to have "Oooh, I needed that" transmitted in the RTTY section of 20 meter= s, and you usually wouldn't want to listen to the tones when transmitting, = especially at the level you'd like the spots at. Any comments or advice would be appreciated... thanks.... ....Dave Chasey -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ DXBase Reflector - Please visit us on the web at www.dxbase.com - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - = To UNSUBSCRIBE please visit: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase ----------------------- Internet Header -------------------------------- Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Received: from mailman.qth.net (mailman.qth.net [64.238.2.60]) by siaag1ad.compuserve.com (8.9.3/8.9.3/SUN-1.12) with ESMTP id DAA02082= for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Mon, 25 Feb 2002 03:10:50 -0500 (EST)= Received: from mailman.qth.net (mailman.qth.net [64.238.2.60]) by mailman.qth.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id 37BAB328416; Mon, 25 Feb 2002 03:12:02 -0500 (EST) Delivered-To: [email protected] Received: from vet.vet.purdue.edu (vet.vet.purdue.edu [128.210.96.50]) by mailman.qth.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id CEE6B328241 for <[email protected]>; Mon, 25 Feb 2002 03:11:44 -0500 (EST) Received: (from [EMAIL PROTECTED]) by vet.vet.purdue.edu (8.9.1b+Sun/8.9.1) id DAA04765; Mon, 25 Feb 2002 03:09:37 -0500 (EST) From: Dave Chasey <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] Subject: [DXBase] recomendations...
