Ron:

You can buy the Mark v I have for around $2,500 and you don't need the in=
terface.
You can buy the Icom pro I have for $1,875 with no interface, but pay arou=
nd $100 for the inerface.
I don't buy a radio for the computer conection.

Dave

You will need the ICOM CT-17 box to interface your computer and your radi=
o.
This box supports up to 4 radios and is overly expensive. There are seve=
ral
low cost alternatives which control a single radio which should be enough=

for most everyone. I don't have the URL's right at hand but I can find t=
hem
later.

You will need my radios.ini files which are corrections to the ones that
DXbase distributtes, but which will be incorporated into dXBase2003 I am
pretty sure.

They are attached.

Personally I am mad at ICOM for leaving out needed functionallity in thei=
r
computer interface, and for being impossible to deal with. I don't buy
another ICOM unless they get their act together!!! And I am a long time
user with 2 ICOM 781's, a 706 and now a 756 Pro II.  Looking to switch!!!=
