My response: This is no longer true with DXBase2003 at least. The only device that I am aware of for which this was a problem in DXBase2002 was for rotor control, but for DXBase2003 this difficulty as been removed. With DXBase2003 you can use COM1 through COM16 without any special effort. There are no address issues. I have noticed SIIG but I don't know if they have 4 and 8 port boards. Byterunner does.
