Hi All, I follow the comments requests etc that appear on this Reflector with great interest. A few days back someone commented about the "auto population " of the frequency column in DXbase 2003. Due to an upgrading project to WINDOWS XP I lost the thread of the comments arising.
As one of the people who asked for this feature may I, belatedly, have my 20 cents worth please? Given a good band opening my 9V prefix frequently attracts a small dog pile and I usually work quite a few stations one after another on the same frequency. Auto population of this frequency along with the date is for me a godsend. Thanks Jack and Courtney for listening and acting. However, to suit my preferred logging style which is currently off line, I have rearranged the column order in my QSO log to "Date" "Time" "Frequency" "Mode" "Callsign" etc. Thus when I enter the second QSO of the session I enter the time, pass through the other (empty) columns to "Callsign" and after entering that, typing in the call and hitting "Enter" the frequency and date columns are auto populated with the details from the immediately preceding QSO. Great - just what I wanted My point here is that when you come to the frequency column it is empty and you have the choice of either manually entering the numbers or just pass through. Surely the best of both worlds without introducing any further software changes??? Hope this input is of use to DXbase 2003 users. 73 de 9V1RH. David H. Rankin, 9V1RH/VK3QV P. O.
