Try setting the keep alive timer to a lower value.  Unless you have changed
it, its likely 10 minutes.
As a test try 2 minutes, yes I know its pretty small, but if you stay
connected with 2 minutes, then you can try next 4 minutes etc.

I do think it may be a router issue.  A router keeps a dynamic table of
activity and at some low level of activity (packets originated from you end)
it will expire.

This experiment may help in determining what that expiration time might be.
