And you can abbreviate the TALK command with just the letter T if you wish I don't have the cool web page (or any, for that matter) that N5IN has, but I do have an AR-Cluster as do the two guys below. Your DXbase hosts file should have my IP address as n7us.net. The numerical one works, as I have a static IP, but I have the n7us.net domain in case I ever change to an ISP with no static IP.
I have all US/VE spots, as few have asked for worldwide spots. As with any AR-Cluster, if you want to be more selective and just get spots from a few states, your own call area, or certain band/modes, type HELP SE/FILTER for info. I've visited and use them and they work well. A thought occurred (don't laugh, I have them occasionally) to me that it could be a good idea for DXB members to use these clusters. Why? Talk messages usually don't work across clusters with out adding routes. But this way, if DXB users congregated DXB users could get almost real time help with questions. The two I know of for sure are; dxspots.net #N5IN ks4q.no-ip.com or you can use it's numeric 66.23.195.102 both use the standard port of 23. For those not familiar with the commands, some software may work slightly different but: Talk W1AW Hiram did you get cw working? <enter> will send that question to W1AW if he's connected. Talk W1AW <enter> will open a direct link to W1AW with the ability to talk back and forth. In either case. Only the sender and intended recipient will see the messages. As I'm connected most of the time, feel free to type Talk W9OL that's the stupidest idea you ever had <enter> ----------------------------------------------------- You May be a CheeseHead if: Your 4th of July Family Picnic was moved indoors due to frost. ----------------------------------------------------- W9OL, Bill H. in Chicagoland _______________________________________________ DXBase Reflector - Please visit us on the web at www.dxbase.com - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - To UNSUBSCRIBE please visit: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase
