Good Morning,
I am having trouble with rig control after removing Windows 98SE and
installing
XP. Here is a rundown of my equipment.

Gigabyte GA-8IHXP system board with Intel 2.4gig and 1 Gig memory. Com1 and
Com2
are naturally on the system board. I have a Lavaport PCI card for Com3 and
Com4 which
control my Yaesu FT1000MP and Kenwood TS2000 respectively. I have a Comtrol
USB to
Serial Hub which gives me Com5,6,7,8 and I am using 5 and 6 for my two
rotors which are
on a DCU-1 controller.

Now for my issue. Using WIndows 98SE and the same configuration as
above I was
able to use rig control to either rig with no problem using either Writelog
or DXBase 2003.

Now that I am using XP and the same configuration as above I have the
following
problems.

1. Turning either rig on or off freezes the PC and I have to power down and
reboot.
2. The Yaesu will send the freq I want to the rig but will not read the
freq from the rig. I see
the Cat display every second or so (in Writelog) telling me it is
communicating but not properly.

Any ideas what my problem could be as it not only happens in Writelog
but also
DXBase 2003. Although DXBase 2003 will read the data from the Yaesu and
enter it into
the log so communication is two way with that program.

Thanks for any support you can offer as this issue is about to drive me
nuts. In
fact I tried Windows 2000 and it did the same thing so I returned it for my
money back.
