This is a strange one that I have been trying to figure out for a while now. Seems that everytime I go into DXBase my sound drivers become corrupted. I am using DXB 2004, Win 98 and a soundblaster live. What happens is my audio out drops off. It is still there but very weak. If I remove the soundcard from the device manager and reinstall the drivers all is well again until I launch DXBase again! I have played with the sound settings in DXB and that is fine. Also the sound is down for everthing...not just DXBase.
