XP seems to require a minimum of 256MB of RAM to work decently. Having
said that, I do NOT use XP Home or Pro, but I do use Windows 2000 Pro on
my shack PC. While both 2K and XP are derived from the same Windows NT
platform, and XP is faster to boot than Win2K, I have heard of a lot
more application issues with XP vs. Win2K. I use N1MM Logger to run the
radio and send CW and DXbase 2004 as my archive log. No problems
sending CW with N1MM and Win2K.

I switched from W98SE to XP Home Edition on my AMD 450, it is fairly
slow
with XP since I have a low amount of RAM but all radio devices worked
well
after the upgrade.

computers. I use Windows XP Professional at work and thought it might be
good to update the home systems to match. I currently run Windows 98
Second
Edition and have had good success with it and the radios, small home
network, etc. The computers are Intel P4, PIII, PII, and Pentium units.

versions, on these systems? How does it work with DXBase, radio
interfaces,
Amp interfaces, and multiple I/O adapters? Are there other Operating
Systems
that would be better? I currently use DXBase 2003 but will be upgrading
it
soon.
