I have a WX5D keyer that I use with WriteLog. Under WriteLog both the HF
Radio and the
W5XD Keyer use the same serial port. I see that DXBASE requires a port
for  the HF radio
and another port for the WX5D keyer. This presents a cable swapping problem
when switching
from DXBASE to WriteLog ... or am I missing something here. Anyone been
through this one
and come up with a better way?

Thanks for all the responses to my original message (above). I should have
been more clear
in my posting :)

Let me add the following:

Yes, it is clear in the instructions that DXBASE requires a serial port for
the keyer separate from
the HF radio serial port.

I have more than enough serial ports available to support the HF radio and
the external
keyer etc.

For purposes of discussion let's assume the following:

Using WriteLog

Com1 = External keyer and HF radio . (Keyer plugs into Com1 and HF Radio
plugs into keyer)
Com2 = not used

Using DXBASE

Com1 = External keyer
Com2 =  HF Radio

When I switch from using WriteLog to DXBASE or vice versa it seems that I
will have to move the
cable that feeds the HF radio from the keyer to the Com2 port and vice versa.

Has someone figured out a better way to do this?

Thanks for reading from Joe.
