I'm currently a DX4WIN user, evaluating alternative logging programs because DX4WIN has a problem that won't be fixed. What I need to know is: Does DXBase have this same problem?
Here's the problem: Unlike the other DXCC awards, the ARRL has a cutoff date of 1975 for QSOs valid for the CW DXCC. In other words, a pre-1975 QSO does NOT count for CW DXCC, but DOES count towards Mixed DXCC. If I've worked a country ONLY prior to 1975 and only on CW, it shows up as a counter for both my Mixed and CW DXCCs. It should show up only for MIXED DXCC. In this situation, will DXBase properly handle it? This may seem like a trivial problem, but I have many pre-1975 QSOs that fall into this trap. Where it creates a problem is on the DX Spots. DX4WIN colors such a spot as already credited on CW, whereas it is really a needed one on CW for the CW DXCC. Deleting the QSO doesn't solve anything, since then it disappears from the Mixed count. 73, Floyd - K8AC
