To all, Now that DXbase2005 will read-in your LoTW adi file -- there is also one more area that the ARRL is not following the ADIF standards .. And, that is with regards to the IOTA numbers..
ARRL is allowing (at least for now) anything to come through.. such as: AS 004 SA 002 NA02 OC-24 NA170 EU005 Along with probably other combinations that are "not" correctly specified for ADIF Standards. With DXbase2005, the record(s) are read in OK - for the purpose of updating your LoTW CFM info -- BUT, without manual intervention, the IOTA info itself will not update. I have written a MACRO in Microsoft Word 97 (and you could use any of the Editors that give you the ability to write and run a MACRO) -- and this MACRO updates all of the messed-up IOTA entries in the LoTW adi file - so that I can make use of the incoming IOTA information. Again - "nothing" is lost of the LoTW record - except for the IOTA number itself (if you do not correct it manually or via a MACRO).. Jack and team has given us the ability to IMPORT our downloaded LoTW adi file -- It is just regretful that the ARRL is allowing certain things to come thru (for now) .. Ron N5IN has already pointed out a couple more of the Non-ADIF standards in an earlier email.. 73 de Joe wa6axe
