I've assembled the K1EL WinKey kit and am trying to address it using the serial
port on my HP laptop. The computer does not seem to recognize the WinKey, so
I'm not sure if I have a hardware or a software problem at this point. Has
anyone else gotten this combination to work?

Chuck,
Just so happens that I tried out my K1EL keyer with DXB2K5 last
night and it worked FB. Did you make sure that in DXB CW keyer set up
options you selected the correct com port and that you have the pin 5
choice set to PTT or Tone? Also, check the com port baud rate is set to
1200 N-8-1 and the address is set correctly. DXB expects COM 1 to be at
3F8.
