Bill, Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, that's not it. I've tried it both ways... even standing on my head while holding my breath.
The rig and computer are communicating, but the frequency is incorrect when I attempt to retrieve it from within DXBase. Ironically, the mode is correctly retrieved. Another problem is, when I attempt to QSY by clicking on a spot using the packet cluster, the radio does not respond. I'm stumped. 73 Greg K4KO -----Original Message----- Sent: Sunday, October 24, 2004 7:27 AM To: K4KO - Greg; DXBase List Subject: Re: [Dxbase] DXBase 2005 rig control for IC746 Greg Just a shot in the dark as I do not have Icom. But...I just read in another reflector that a Icom owner was having trouble controlling his SteppIR. Someone suggested checking the Icom menu to see if the CIV interface was turned on. That did it even though the owner said that other software worked normally. ----- Original Message ----- From: "K4KO - Greg" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, October 24, 2004 8:15 AM Subject: Re: [Dxbase] DXBase 2005 rig control for IC746 Still no joy here, but I find that I receive the following when I attempt to retrieve the frequency/mode from the radio using Alt-Q: VFOa -816825.13 VFOb Mode CW I have searched the archives but found nothing. Can someone help me figure this out? 73 Greg K4KO ------- Original message -------- I apologize for this in advance, but can someone tell me the settings (both rig and software) for interfacing DXBase 2005 with an IC746 via serial port? At one time I had this working, but no longer. Oddly enough, I have the rig interfaced using Writelog and that works perfectly. However, I can't get DXB to work using the same settings. I don't get an error message, but I have no control of the rig, and DXBase does not retrieve the Freq/Mode etc. OS: WinXP SP1 (on a Laptop with one serial port) DXBase 2005 HF Rig Interface: checked DTR: checked RTS: checked Port: COM1 Baud: 1200 Word: 8 Stop: 1 Parity: NONE Pegasis: NONE Rig IC746 CI-V Tansceive: ON Address: 56h Baud: 1200 This does not work. What am I missing? Thanks, 73 Greg K4KO
