yes the Ch prefix is assign to Canada

I was just checking for any special prefixes that are happening at the
moment and I don't know why they would be using the CH
 prefix at the moment.

I am sure it's Canada. You may have inadvertently mapped it as JA.

A good source for this info is:

http://www.wordiq.com/definition/ITU_prefix

Keep in mind that the larger the country, the more likely they have multiple
totally
non-sequential blocks of callsign prefixes.
So do a search for the Country name on that site and it will show all the
different
blocks.

QSO made with CH7SV on 27-11-1993 40M CW. DXbase says it is a JA, I did a
SH/PREF CH on
packet and it comes up as a VE. What is this?

Thankyou for all your help. Jim
