When I create an ADIF file, DxBase asks if I am submitting this for LoTW. If I
check YES, it will mark QSOs as LoTW sent. The question I have is, why does
the ADIF file contain a lot of seemingly extra DxBase info if it knows that the
file is to just go to LoTW? I assume that LoTW ignores many of the fields, but
it seems to make the file much larger than it really needs to be. LoTW
shouldn't care about fields such as <QSL_VIA:6>, <QSL_RCVD:1>, <DXBQSL_RCVD:1>,
<QSL_SENT:1>, <DXBQSL_SENT:1>, <DXBPFX:2>, <DXBMGRN:1>, <DXBAWD:1>, <DXBSEL:1>,
or <DXBVAL:1>. Is it really necessary to include those in the ADIF file if I
indicate that I am submitting this file for LoTW?
