Hi Guys
Thought I would tell you that I found the problem. I use two monitors.
DXBase2005 was being displayed on monitor #2 which would not show the pop
ups. Out of curiosity, I moved DXBase to monitor #1 and every thing is OK.
Both monitors are the same (Dell) and are set up the same. Haven't a clue as
to the different behavior. Jack has suggested that there may be a bad video
card and I will check this out.
BTW, I have DXBase2005 installed on five computers with OS of 98se, ME,
XP Office and XP Pro. XP Pro is by far the best OS. I use two Dell 2.4s with
XP Pro at the ham station and the main one has dual monitors. Almost a
necessary with some of the radio programs ie WinWarbler and N1MM Logger,
highly recommended and free with excellent support.
Thanks got to my son (KB4RDI) for providing me with the outdated
computers and monitors, hi hi. He has his own computer graphics business and
has to keep up with technology.

OH I miss understood. Ok then instead of useing the enter key once you made
the change try useing theTAB key to enter the data and see if that takes care
of it.

Subject: [Dxbase] How to print DXCC info from ARRL web site??
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I'm getting ready to apply for the CQ DX Field Awards, using Joe's new reports
for this purpose at his website.
These reports work great for summarizing which fields are confirmed by mode
and band/mode.

I want to minimize the number of cards to send by using my DXCC credits (as
documented under my account at the ARRL LOTW) for the single-field entities.
Joe's web page shows the steps needed to find this information.

My question is, how do I get a decent printout on standard 8.5 x 11 inch paper
that covers all the bands? I've tried saving the web page and editing it and
using different page layouts, but so far I can't get an output that will span
all the bands I have credits for, namely 160m thru 10m.

What program do I need? (I have WordPerfect at home, and Microsoft Word at
work).

Thanks & 73,

Chuck,

What I did, was to simply PRINT from my web-browser - but,
I put the printer into LANDSCAPE MODE vice Portrait mode -- and,
I got it all ok.. did you try this method?

Chuck,

"IF" you are using the NETSCAPE web-browser, you can leave the
printer in portrait mode -- and just simply go into
File / Print Preview and while there - before printing, call for
Scale: "Shrink to Fit" ... that way you can use the 8 1/2 X 11
in portrait mode.

Success!

After downloading Netscape 8, I was able to shrink the Challenge listing to 8.5
x 11 paper. I had to use landscape-- wouldn't fit otherwise.

Subject: [Dxbase] CQ DX Field Award-- some tips
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I thought I'd report on my experience thus far in identifying grid fields for
the new CQ award.

Going through your QSL's is a sifting process. First, ignore any QSL's before
1980-- they don't count! Then, identify those fields for which you have a post
Jan. 1, 1980 QSL from a "single-grid field" entity. For example, Johnston
Island (KH3) is contained entirely within field "AK." You may be able to get
credit for these fields using your DXCC records, without having to submit
cards.

Next, find your QSL's that have a grid field marked or printed directly on the
card. Enter grid fields in your computer log. DXBase 2005, with some very
recent output reports prepared by WA6AXE for the new award, works well for me.

Then you will have to deal with confirmations from Alaska, Antarctica, Canada,
Russia, Australia, USA, etc. that are multi-field entities. The problem here is
to identify the grid field. The QRZ.com (detailed info) and HamCall websites
can be useful, as they frequently (but not always) report grid squares.

Some QSL's are marked with Lat/Lon co-ordinates. These can be easily converted
to grid fields (or squares, depending on the accuracy of the lat/lon info
provided) using the following web-site:

http://www.amsat.org/amsat/toys/gridconv.html

It's easy to make mistake in entering lat/lon data, so double check yourself as
you use this resource.

If lat/lon info is not provided on the QSL, you can use an atlas, or if you
prefer an online resource, try:

http://www.weatherunderground.com/

Finally, some cards won't count for the award because they don't have enough
QTH info to pin down the grid field. For instance, I have a card from TJ1GG (a
two grid field entity) which has no QTH info at all.

Hope this info is of use to DX'ers working to qualify for this new award.

How do I output an ADIF file by date/time or original sequence number as

If I export an ADIF file without filters the order is sorted by call, not
date/time.

Hi Gang.
I found a solution that works.
