Dave,

I went thru the same pain.
(IC7800, PW-1, DXBase2005, SteppIR)
I finally ended up doing the following:

1: parallel connections of PW-1, SteppIR on the 7800 CI-V bus and
2: use the DB serial port output/input on the 7800 for the PC with the
DXBase2005 program.
3: go to 19200 Baud

now it works OK 99% if the time. Every once in a while the DXBase senses the
wrong
frequency, but the PW1 and Steppir synch is 100%.

Subject: [Dxbase] Icom CI-V connections

Hi Folks

Although this is a little off track I wonder if anyone can help me.

For some time I have operated with DxBase 2005, RigBlaster Pro, Icom 7800
and a Steppir 3 El Beam all operating quite satisfactorily at 9600 baud via
the CI-V connections.

I have added in the last few days a Icom PW-1 Euro and now it's a nightmare
to get the lot to stay together. If connect the Icom 7800 directly to the
PW-1 that will work, then if I add in the other units it all eventually
works but then for no reason one or other decides to ignore the CI-V
messages.

I have spoken with Icom Uk and they have emailed Icom Japan but as yet no
reply. I should add I have followed the Icom America suggestions on how to
get various rigs working with the PW-1 but that doesn't help in this
case. It would appear to be a problem with the number of CI-V units
connected.

Each morning after switching off at night I have to go through the whole
proceedure....

I would appreciate any suggestions.
