Good afternoon to all!

After looking over many aspects of various Award programs,
it is well apparent that with the complexity of some of
the Award Programs - many DXbase users are using other
logging programs that are dedicated to just that Award.

So, with this in mind, I will help (if you want) the DXbase
users who are using DXbase for the main logging program for
such Awards -- this help (if you want) can be one-on-one.

Myself, not being into the County Hunters program right now,
did not have a "real" good feeling of what VARIOUS parts of
the Award program are involved. But, after looking over the
various parts of the program - and - talking with users who
"are into" the program, it is well apparent that some DXbase
users are opting for using the "dedicated" logging program
for this Award.

73 and Cheers!

am sorry that I made my post on the problems I have been having finding some
of these counties. It was a real learning experience though. If you go to the
county hunter web site at the map http// www.
countyhunter.com/State%20and%20County/ak.gif you will find a map of the
counties which are really bouroghs and the districts which are voteing
districts numbered 1, 2, 3. 4 where 1 = 1st (SE) 2 = 2nd (NW) 3 = 3rd
(SC) 4 = 4th (C) are is what the county hunter recognise as COUNTIES. A few
Alaskins helped me out to understand this and were very helpful. A bit
confuseing but if you really think about it the bourghs makes sence.

All you people out there were a big help to me to get a foot hold into county
hunting. DXBase has its problems like most programs. I have complete faith
that DXBase will do a fine job on upgrades to help us county hunters and others
out like they had for other awards. They are a bunch of dedicated people who
are will to keep improveing this highly versital program.

It is nice that DXbase as a logging program can enhance record keeping and
award application procedures. But, to be honest, I don't myself have the
slightest interest in what US county hunters rules are. I am a dx'er, I would
far rather have the Oblast or DOK or other geo-characteristic of a location
recorded. But, I don't want to insist that DXbase keep track of those for me or
auto recognize them. There are other methods of doing that. DXbase is a good,
solid, useable program. It doesn't have to do everything for everyone. I would
hope that we can keep the discussions a little more on track, if we can't I
will have to change to the digest version of the reflector postings.

Subject: [Dxbase] county, castle, or lighthouse awards

Well, I've got almost all the countries, and on most of the bands and most of
the modes.
So I'm just getting into county chasing, iota, and collecting castles or
lighthouses.

Anyone willing to post help on how I can utilize the features of DXBase to
track and apply
for these awards will be appreciated by me.
In fact, I'd go so far as to be eagerly awaited.
