Jim, Let me see if I can explain this a bit. One of the strong points in the design of DXbase is that it is structured in a manner that lets users expand on what is originally distributed. For example, Joe and others have become experts at making reports and from time to time they create new report files. In order for them to be used in DXbase, two things must happen:
1. The .rpt file created by Joe or whomever must be downloaded per their instructions and the .rpt file must be placed in the DXbase 2006 subfolder called reports. 2. The file called rptdesc.ini in your main DXbase 2006 folder must be edited to add a reference to the newly downloaded report. If you don't do this, then the new report will not show up in the list of standard reports from within DXbase. In the case at hand, what Joe sent to you is the text for the line that must be added to the rptdesc.ini file. The new line to be added MUST be copied exactly as it appears in the text that Joe provided. If not exact, then DXbase will not be able to properly open the report. If you open the rptdesc.ini file using MS Notepad and then scroll through the file you will see a group of entries that already say something like Withxxx. What you need to do is insert a new entry into this section using the text that Joe sent to you. If you do this and also add the .rpt file to the reports folder, this will take care of it and you will then be able to see the report listed in the Standard Reports module. If this still seems confusing, then I would suggest getting some local help from a computer guru who could probably help you with the mechanics of editing a file etc....using the instructions already provided.
