Indeed, after now having used DX Base 2006 for a few weeks now I can quite comfortably say how pleased I am with the many upgraded and improved features there are in this year's release. This is a major upgrade that I can comfortably say is an absolute and unqualified success. Probably the best improvements for me personally are the re-sizable windows, auto-reconnect to an Internet Cluster and the new Field Order applet. There are tons more reports in this version than in the past (Thanks to Joe!) and the Summary window's changes are clearly for the better. Overall I am extremely pleased with what I've seen. As a heavy-duty DX-hound, I use my logger probably more than any other app on any system on my network (with the exception of Eudora e-mail and Trillian IM apps) and the power that it commands still amazes me. If you need a killer-app logger, this is it. While it still has a few things about it that I don't like, they are now at the point of being minor annoyances rather than potential show-stoppers. The development that went into the 2006 release was nothing short of great and, as I said to Jack in Dayton last weekend, THANK YOU for your hard work. Of course, my yearly wish list for 2007 is being readied, but it's an order of magnitude shorter than it was this time last year. - pjd W2IRT
