Good afternoon to all!

I have finished the last in the Progress Report series. This last
report will show (after a contest or just searching the log) the
"All-time" New one - yes - an entity that you have never ever worked
before on any band; and, also shows the new "band-entities".

This last report of the series uses the "dropdown Calendar feature" -
and to make it work properly, the only item of information that I need
is what your SHORT DATE setup is in your computer's CONTROL PANEL /
Regional Settings / Short Date. Once I have that info - then I can
send you the proper "version" that will work with your own computer's
setup. I like the Calendar feature over the manually "type-it-in"
method of setting up the contest begin date and contest end date.

If anyone is interested in this report - or the whole series of
reports (6 of them) - pse email me directly .. For the 2006 users who
I have been working with recently, I will be sending you the new
report automatically.

Hpe you all are having a great weekend.

Subject: [Dxbase] backups are important & COM2 problem
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Remember do to backups often.

The hardfile in the computer that I use at my station quit. Fortunately I
had a backup on a USB memory key.

I changed to a new machine with Windows XP. Both DXBase and N1MM logger
would not communicate with my rig on the serial port. The new computer has
two serial ports and a modem, COM1 COM2 and the modem is COM3. COM1 worked
okay with my TNC. COM3 okay for the modem but I could not get COM2 to work
on the radio. The old computer did not have this problem, It has the
same configuration with two serial ports and the modem, also running
windows XP. CW keying is done via the parallel port and that works okay.

After a while I tried COM4 for the radio. That works for both DXbase and
N1MM logger. Device manager shows COM1 and COM2 on the standard addresses.
So If you are having problems with the ports on XP try the extra ones that
are shown in the software.
