I have pretty much had the radio off for the last couple months. Now I have it
on (Mark V) and when I click on a spot I see the CAT light come on the radio,
but it doesn't always respond. For instance, it will change to one frequency,
but when I press Alt-R it won't go back. Also the other day I was trying to
show my brother-in-law how it pulls the frequency from the radio with a contact
and it didn't. Luckily there is so much information entered I doubted he
noticed. I checked and the data/stop bits and speed are correct so that isn't
the problem. The only thing I can think of is the order I am executing things.
I would assume turning on the radio would be first and then starting DXBase.
What I may be doing and not realizing it is starting the program and while it
is still coming up turning on the radio.

Does that sound feasible? Maybe I need to turn on the radio and give it a
minute to come "on-line" and then start DXBase.

73 and have a good long weekend,
Bob

After looking at the problem further it appears that when I click a spot that
DXBase 2006 resets the radio to the frequency. What I see it not doing is if I
enter a QSO it isn't entering the frequency in the log. Also if I press Alt-R
to reset the frequency to the last HF frequency it isn't doing that either.
The rig is a Yaesu Mark V, but I also have a Kenwood TS-870 and the same thing
happens with it. This leads me to think it isn't the radio since it is the
same problem on both rigs.

Any ideas?

Bob,

In user options under the log tab, do you have the option turned on to
populate the HF radio data?
