XP may not need it...but DXBAse does.

You can go to \WINDOWS\system.32\drivers\etc  and you will find the Host file.
You will probably also find a Host.dxb26.bak file which is your old Host file 
before you 
reinstalled.

you can look at both using Notepad.
If you rename the Host file that is newer to something safe and then rename the 
.bak file 
to 'Host' (no extension) you will probably be back in business.

OR
You can use the DXBase2006 built-in in Host file editor in File>Modify Hosts 
File and make 
changes that way..
