Fred, I can't say I've got an answer for this.
Apparently there is a conflict. (but you figured that out already).

Backup the important files before you attempt reinstalling.
And you might try installing to a different directory.

Oh, do a Set Restore point before 'uninstalling' DXB
and another Set Restore point prior to the reinstall.
